1.6 Editing Upsell Page

The upsell page is a key component of your funnel, allowing you to maximise revenue by offering an additional, highly relevant product or service to your customers. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to customise the upsell page, whether you're selling digital courses, coaching programs, templates, or any other product.

Step 1: Define Your Upsell Offer

Your upsell should be a natural next step for your customer. Ask yourself:

  • What would complement their initial purchase?

  • What would make their journey easier or faster?

  • What could enhance their results?

Examples:

  • If they bought a content strategy template, your upsell could be a done-for-you content calendar.

  • If they purchased a signature offer intensive, your upsell could be a custom marketing plan.

  • If they joined a business coaching program, your upsell could be 1:1 coaching calls for deeper support.

Step 2: Update the Headline

Your headline should clearly communicate the value of the upsell.

Examples:

  • Accelerate Your Success with [Your Offer]

  • The Perfect Companion to Your [Initial Purchase]

  • Take It to the Next Level – Limited-Time Special Offer!

If you’re unsure, a simple and effective formula is: "Get [Benefit] Without [Common Struggle]"

Example: "Get More Clients Without the Overwhelm – Done-for-You Content Plan Inside!"

Step 3: Create an Automation Workflow
  • Make sure your upsell price is clear.

  • Your CTA should be action-driven and specific.

  • If you're offering an incentive (e.g., a bonus for purchasing now), highlight it.

Examples of CTAs:

  • Yes! Add This to My Order

  • Upgrade My Experience

  • Claim My Bonus Before It Expires

If they decline, redirect them to another relevant offer (downsell) or a thank-you page.

Step 4: Edit the Offer Description

This section should clearly explain:

  • What’s included (features, benefits, deliverables).

  • Why it’s valuable (how it helps them achieve their goals faster or easier).

  • What makes it special (bonuses, exclusivity, limited-time pricing, etc.).

Example Structure:

What You’ll Get:

✅ Feature 1 – How it helps them ✅ Feature 2 – How it removes a struggle ✅ Feature 3 – What makes it unique

Bonus: If you purchase today, you’ll also get [extra value add] absolutely free!

Step 5: Modify the Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons

You’ll typically have two buttons:

Yes, I Want This Upgrade – This should be bold, eye-catching, and use action-driven language.

No, I’ll Pass on This Exclusive Offer – A softer, less enticing CTA for those who decline.

Make sure these buttons link correctly to your checkout or next step.

Step 6: Adjust Any Video or Testimonials

If you want your page to include a video message or testimonials, replace them with your own. A short video explaining why this upsell is valuable can significantly increase conversions.

If using testimonials, select those that relate to the upsell specifically. If you don’t have any yet, you can:

  • Add a short success story from a previous client.

  • Share your own journey and why you created this offer.

Step 7: Test Everything Before Publishing

Once you've updated the page, go through these final checks:

✅ Does the offer clearly communicate its value?

✅ Are all links and buttons working correctly?

✅ Is the pricing correct?

✅ Is the messaging aligned with your brand voice?

✅ Is the upsell compelling without feeling pushy?

Your upsell page should feel like a natural extension of the initial purchase, providing additional value that enhances their results. Keep it clear, compelling, and benefit-driven, and you’ll maximise both conversions and customer satisfaction.

1.6.5 Adding a Downsell Offer (Optional)

A downsell is a lower-priced alternative offered to customers who decline the upsell. Here’s how to set it up:

1. Create a New Funnel Step for the downsell page.

2. Offer a More Affordable Alternative that still provides value (e.g., a payment plan, a smaller package, or a different product).

3. Redirect the NO Button from the upsell page to the downsell page instead of the final confirmation.

4. Edit the Call-to-Action to reflect the new offer, ensuring the messaging focuses on affordability and accessibility.

5. Test the Funnel Flow to confirm that customers are directed correctly based on their choices.

1.7 Editing Thank You Page

Creating a well-structured Thank You Page in Systeme.io is a game-changer. Instead of directing customers to a separate course area, you can provide instant access to all necessary resources, links, and training materials in one place. This ensures a seamless experience and increases engagement.

Step 1: Structuring Your Thank You Page

1. Welcome Message & Instructions Add a short, warm welcome message. Encourage users to bookmark the page for easy access. Inform them that an email with important links is on the way.

2. Essential Resources Section Include links to PDFs, workbooks, and templates. Add a link to your private community (if applicable). Provide a checklist of what to complete next.

3. Video Walkthrough(Optional but recommended) Record a short video explaining how to access and use the provided resources. Embed the video at the top of the page for clarity.

Step 2: Connecting Payment Gateways

If your funnel involves direct payments, ensure your payment methods are properly set up:

Go to Settings > Payment Gateways in Systeme.io.

Connect PayPal or Stripe by following the on-screen instructions.

Test your checkout flow to confirm everything is working smoothly.

Step 5: Final Touches
  • Test everything! Walk through the funnel as a customer to ensure links, payments, and videos work.

STEP 3: DRIVE TRAFFIC TO YOUR FUNNEL

Optimise your profile

Here’s how you can make your profile better so people get curious, check out your offers, and even make a purchase while you sleep!

1. Have a Clear Profile – If someone visits your profile and sees nothing about what you do, they’ll move on. You need to add details about your work and a link to your offer so they can learn more.

2. Use a Banner – A big image (banner) at the top of your profile can grab attention. You can create one using Canva, making it look like a button so people want to click. When they do, they’ll find more details about your product. (link to tempaltes below)

3. Add Links Everywhere (But Not Too Many!) – Place your link in your bio, your pinned post (the first post people see), and other key spots. Make it easy for visitors to find and buy your offer.

4. Pin a Post About Your Offer – Write a short post explaining what you sell, add an image, and pin it to your profile. This way, it stays at the top for everyone to see first.

5. Talk About Your Offer in a Fun Way – Instead of spamming your page with links, share useful information, tips, and fun facts about what you sell. Show your excitement—if you’re excited, others will be too!

6. Be Unique – Don’t copy what others are saying. Write in your own words so people connect with you. Being real helps build trust and makes people more likely to buy.

Now go update your profile and start getting more eyes on your offers! 🚀
